Role Executive Vice President–Operations

Qualification Profile Post Graduate in Management/Engineering/Finance/ Technology or allied disciplines
Work Experience Minimum 15 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in the areas of trading & surveillance, clearing & settlement, warehousing and good knowledge of systems & technology. Prior experience of interfacing with regulatory authorities, preferably in stock/commodity exchanges/clearing corporations, depositories, banks/financial institutions and/or similar institutions would be an advantage.
Job Responsibilities
  • Managing functions of the Market Operations department (Trading & Surveillance, Clearing & Settlement, Delivery & Settlement, Warehousing, Logistics and Systems & Technology)
  • Providing strategic direction by aligning the Exchange’s technology vision to achieve business goals
  • Participating in defining risk management policies for the Exchange and its members

Job Responsibilities
  • Developing a pro-active approach towards handling litigations and regulatory issues along with disposal/resolution plan including appeals to judicial/quassi-judicial bodies and providing pragmatic and effective legal advice to manage legal risks
  • Strategising, managing and coordinating litigation matters with external legal counsels/firms, as need be
  • Providing support for negotiations and amicable out-of-court settlements of pre-litigation and post-litigation cases between the Company and disputing litigants
  • Responding to complex inquiries regarding existing contract obligations and revisions, identifying risks and issues and suggesting best alternatives within a corporate environment
  • Providing concrete legal advice to the Company’s management and user departments on a proactive basis and keeping them informed of the latest legal developments, enactments and judicial pronouncements
  • Ensuring adequate documentation as per requirements of user departments and management

Job Responsibilities
  • Evaluating effectiveness of the existing internal control mechanisms by analysing reports, information, transaction details, and assessing the potential risks and frauds
  • Identifying, analysing, designing and documenting the risks associated with business operations, compliances, financial transactions, technology and assets, and implementing the overall risk management policies, procedures, and establishing control mechanisms to mitigate the identified risks
  • To monitor the effectiveness of the risk management processes and implement the required changes therein to mitigate the risks
