India Post, with a network of 1,55,516 post offices (with 1,25,148 in rural areas) across approx 5,94,000 villages across the country, provides the unparalleled reach and depth to take across any offering right at the doorstep of farmers. As the minimum level of infrastructure remains available with each post office, it helps to minimize the project cost. Also, because of standard character of established and time-tested systems and processes with India Post, scalability becomes much easier. Postal department may boast of belonging to that elite group of state agencies which enjoys deep trust, faith and acceptability among the rural populace. Because of this, the lead time requirement for generating acceptability of the offerings among the beneficiaries also becomes considerable less. This factor also helps in easily roping in other associated partners because of high reputation and non-controversial nature of the postal; department. Last but not the least; it minimizes the efforts required on various government agencies to get their support and compliance for the project.

Mahyco seeds

Established in 1964, Mahyco seed is pioneer and leader in Indian Seed Industry. It is the first private enterprise in India to produce and market hybrids of cotton, sorghum, sunflower and wheat. It is also the first company to grow and market transgenic Bollgard cotton in 2002. As at most of the GSK project locations, Mahyco is the most popular seed company, farmers have benefited a lot, from Mahyco’s participation in GSK platform.

PHI seeds

Pioneer began India research and parent seed operations in India in 1970. PHI is world’s leading agriculture genetics company. It has around 35 individual products and is among the leading brands in rice, pearl millet, corn and mustard Hybrids. As our GSK location in U.P. and Maharashtra are rich in rice and corn, with PHI joining the GSK platform farmers are now able to avail quality agri inputs at the best price.

Dhanuka

DHANUKA AGRITECH LIMITED handles crop care business of Dhanuka Group. The core strength of the company lies in its vast distribution network spread in the interiors of rural India through 27 branch offices, 1000 plus techno-commercial staff and 15,000 highly dedicated dealers. It has 4 modern manufacturing facilities at Gurgaon and Sohna in Haryana, Sanand in Gujarat and Udhampur in J&K for formulation of various grades of pesticides, fungicides, miticides, weedicides, plant growth stimulants, plant growth regulators, foliar fertilizers and sticking agents. It also has 2 Seed Processing Units at Mandideep in M.P. and Turkapalli (Hyderabad) in Andhra Pradesh. Dhanuka has joined the GSK platform to reach out to GSK farmers and have already sold tier products at Jalgaon GSK center.

Syngenta is a world-leading agribusiness committed to sustainable agriculture through innovative research and technology. The company is a leader in crop protection, and ranks third in the high-value commercial seeds market. Sales in 2006 were approximately $8.1 billion. Syngenta employs around 21,000 people in over 90 countries. Syngenta have joined the GSK platform to reach out to its customers directly. Syngenta also be conducts various farmer awareness programs for promoting their products and capacity building of farmers for integrated pest management services.

NBHC: National Bulk Handling Corporation

National Bulk Handling Corporation Ltd. (NBHC), an ISO 9001: 2000 & ISO 22000:2005 certified company, is a national-level end-to-end solution provider in procurement, warehousing, bulk handling, grading and inspection, commodity care and pest management, collateral management and disposal of commodities. Set up in April 2005, NBHC is a subsidiary of Financial Technologies (India) Limited (FTIL), global leader providing technology solutions for the financial services industry. It has successfully established a network of 363 warehouses across 17 states and union territories in India and with over 13.50 Lakh MT of capacity. In the process, it has facilitated funding worth Rs.3000+ Crore. Also, it has assets worth over Rs.3000+ Crore (10 lakh MT+) under collateral management under tie-up arrangements with Banks. Mahindra Shublabh is a part of the Mahindra Group established under the Mahindra Agribusiness in 2000, with an equity stake from International Finance Corporation (IFC, Washington). Mahindra Agribusiness has taken a direct initiative in launching its brand of wheat, maize, sunflower, groundnut and a range of vegetable seeds as well as agro chemicals. In addition, the Company has also acquired land in Pune to set up a Research & Development facility for seeds and saplings. Mahindra Shublabh is the most recent partner to join the GSK platform.
