Redressal of Investor Grievances

In order to streamline the existing dispute resolution mechanism in the Indian Securities Market, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) vide Master Circular updated on August 11, 2023 has directed the Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs) to establish a common Online Dispute Resolution Portal (ODR Portal) for online Conciliation and online Arbitration for the resolution of disputes.

Investor/client shall first approach his/her respective Trading Member for the redressal of their grievance/s by directly lodging a complaint with them.

If the grievance is not redressed satisfactorily, the investor/client may escalate the same through the SEBI SCORES Portal in accordance with the process laid out therein.

After exhausting all above options for resolution of the grievance, if the investor/client is still not satisfied with the outcome, he/she may initiate dispute through the SMART (Securities Market Approach for Resolution Through ODR Portal) ODR Portal - by clicking on https://smartodr.in/.

The concerned Trading Member may also initiate dispute resolution through the SMART ODR Portal by clicking the above mentioned link post given due notice of atleast 15 calendar days to the investor/client for resolution of the dispute which have not been satisfactorily resolved between them.

The details of the SEBI No. SEBI/HO/OIAE/OIAE_IAD-3/P/CIR/2023/195 dated December 28, 2023 may be referred by clicking on https://scores.sebi.gov.in/.
